Trend Micro has a long history in making antivirus, being it one of the most famous since the ‘90s, with Pc-Cillin at the time and now with a product bearing the name of the company. Unfortunately, the latest version of its famous antivirus software is not so good as you wish.
Its interface tries to be simple, but it lacks the clarity of some of other competitors, and we found that it’s difficult to navigate all the options effectively, at times. It’s sad that they show you on the main windows two features that you can access only paying up to the most expensive product, to let you protect more devices or parental controls to limit your kids’ access to the web, or more secure browsing options to home banking and similar.
As an antivirus and anti-spyware, Trend Micro can find hazardous files on your PC or scan your incoming mail for phishing scams, and is a valid defense even for zero-day exploits. Sadly, performance-wise Trend Micro Antivirus+ is not the best software we tested.
