SugarCRM is one of the biggest and powerful cloud-based customer relationship management software. SugarCRM is an open-source solution for large enterprises rich in features and functionalities, highly customizable but harder to learn and setup: you’ll need someone able to manage the software.
It’s easy to work on the go thanks to the web-based solution and the mobile app letting you manage your projects from anywhere. SugarCRM offers typical CRM features: email integration, customer portals, real-time sharing, marketing solutions (except for email marketing tools), reports, documents upload and data import. Employees and multiple departments can connect to the same client portal at the same time, and it’s also possible to organize individual workers profiles. You can track projects assigned and create a knowledge base, or celebrate achievements with a company social network.
SugarCRM navigation bar can be personalized adding or removing menus with all features you might need. You can find right in SugarCRM the online support, but you can also choose the phone or email help. Sugar Ultimate customers can profit from the 24/7 customer support. The knowledge base is exhaustive: you can find live classes, FAQs, webinars, tutorials and the Sugar University.
A free SugarCRM Community Edition is available, otherwise, you can choose from three cloud-hosted plans with a paid subscription: Sugar Professional offering 15GB of storage, reporting tools, mobile apps, unlimited customizations, and limited online support at $40 per user per month; Sugar Enterprise offering 60GB of storage, role-based views, advanced workflow tools and email and phone support during business hours at $65 per user per month; Sugar Ultimate offering 250GB of storage, advanced tools and 24/7 customer support at $150 per user per month. For each of the three pricing versions, there’s a minimum of 10 users. A free trial is available.
Conclusion
Difficult to learn to use and expensive, SugarCRM is too complicated for small businesses or sole proprietors, but it’s an excellent customer relationship management software. It lacks some minor tools like an internal dialer.

We must not be fooled by appearances: SugarCRM is more than just a software, comes close to a suite or platform and can handle all the needs of our company. And although I have had some difficulty to grasp all the nuances and all features that the software offers, nowadays I wouldn’t go back and I am satisfied with its introduction in company: simplified much of the management of our processes.
