Did you notice that the number of likes of our Instagram photos have disappeared? If you don’t know why, we will help you understand Zuckerberg’s intentions. We will also discuss how influencers could become unemployed if this idea is really taken into consideration.
LOOKING FOR LOST LIKES: INFLUENCER VS INSTAGRAM
Accurate Reviews experts have wondered why the ‘likes’ of our posts on Instagram disappeared. Through a short research we understood that it is an experiment carried out by Zuckerberg himself.
WHAT DOES THIS EXPERIMENT INVOLVE?
This is a large-scale test that began in Canada and subsequently to other countries (Italy is among them). A sample of users will no longer be allowed to see the likes on their posts.
We will be able to see our photo and read only one name of a follower plus “others”. By clicking on “others” we access a section with the number of total likes and the names of the followers who have expressed their like. Here are some photos to understand how we will be shown:
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS TEST?
The idea of this experiment was developed following a research that proved that most users focus and obsess over the number of likes. The quest for the “little hearts” is having negative effects on individuals and even family relationships. The Menlo Park team tell us they want to make Instagram a safe place “where everyone can feel free to express themselves”, shifting the attention to the photos and videos that are shared, instead of the number of likes.
Is Instagram is responsible for our desperate need for approval and validation? It is known that social networks have controversial effects.
INFLUENCER VS INSTAGRAM
There are those who complain because they will lose that self-esteem they had acquired in recent years thanks to some likes received from people they have never seen, but there are those who complain because they work on social networks. Let’s talk about digital influencers who have grown a lot in recent times, reaching a really large audience. Some of them are even sponsored by big brands and this could cause them problems. Instagram, however, also earns well with advertisements and therefore could allow, in this case, companies to advertise their products through advertisements, allowing them to invest perhaps the same money that, however, would no longer be in the pocket of influencers, but directly in those of Instagram.
However, we do not want to alarm anyone because, as far as stated, it seems to be only an experiment. At least for now.
